Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmigiano Reggiano, mixing until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of basil.
Layer the sausage vodka sauce and ricotta mixture in a baking dish, alternating layers.
Bake in a preheated oven until bubbly and golden.
