Molehill Cupcakes (German Maulwurf Cupcakes)

The method

   Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).

   In a bowl, mix together the eggs, sugar, vanilla paste, oil, and sparkling water.

   Add the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder to the mixture and stir until combined.

   Pour the batter into cupcake molds and bake for 30-35 minutes.

   Allow the cupcakes to cool, then use a small spoon to dig a hole in the center of each cupcake.

   Slice the bananas and place the slices into the holes of the cupcakes.

   Top with whipped cream.

   Crumble the reserved cake and sprinkle it on top of the cream.

   Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
